Description

In a time where the energy supply system is about to change, the rich endogenous renewable energy sources of the Alps offer an opportunity to overcome problems like increasing energy prices and vanishing fossil fuels. This document is the final output of the AlpEnergy project. It tackles the problem of weak electricity grids that have not been designed for renewable energy sources by providing Virtual Power Systems (VPS) as an instrument to promote sustainable energy supply in the Alpine space. The report helps to convey the idea of Virtual Power Systems to decision makers and practicioners of a future sustainable energy system with specific respect to the needs and potentials of the Alpine Space.
